Should You Come to Eastern Europe in Winter? Winter in Belgrade

Winter in Eastern Europe has been harsh this January. Serbia was not an exception! I was lucky my flight to Slokavia has been cancelled and I had to stay in Belgrade longer, otherwise I wouldn’t have captured the power of mother nature in photos!

These days the temperature was as low as -14’C and Danube river froze:

Today I have been in the right time, in the right place. Not so common view: frozen Danube river. Brrrr..

  1. I can’t help but to feel sorry for these swans and fishes and other animals living next to the sea. Don’t they migrate during this season?

  2. I just got photos from my friends in London last week that the snow had formed a carpet there. Its not very often that happens. Its been quite sometime since it has snowed heavily in London. Now, looking at Danube, I can imagine how harsh the winters in Europe are right now!

  3. Really great photographs. We have been very lucky, we are in Europe as well but spent a month in Cannes and the weather was great. The last few weeks in Torino we have only seen snow 1 time and that was less than 1 inch. It seems as if we were just to the west of all of the really bad weather that you guys experienced. Anyway, once again I love the photographs and will look for more in the future.
