Slovenia is undoubtedly a (hidden) gem of Europe. Many travelers skip it while visiting Italy or Switzerland.
It is one of the nicest countries I’ve visited this year and I’ll tell you why it should be in your bucket too!
It is easy to explore
Slovenia is a small and diversified country, in no time you can travel from the mountains to the seaside, or explore forests and cities in the same day.
The roads are good and highways are spread all over the country. Travelling within Slovenia is pleasure in itself, beautiful views guaranteed. Wherever you go.
It has breathtaking nature
The nature there is splendid, literally everywhere. Even when you are in the capital you will still enjoy the view of mountains, not just blocks of flats!
You won’t get bored with the views, trust me!
It is clean
I think Slovenia is one of the cleanest countries in this region I have visited so far. It’s good to see that people care about the environment!
Wandering on the streets of different cities in Slovenia is pure pleasure.
And you have it all at once!
If you like historical architecture you will also be happy in Slovenia! It has some splendid old towns in many cities – like this one in kranj. It’s quite small and very colorful. There’re lots of tiny streets filled with art, cafes and beautiful architecture
If you want to go cycling, walk in the city or in the forest or do some water sports – go ahead. You can do it all in Slovenia. Skiing in winter, walking in spring, paddling in summer, cycling in fall. Whatever you want.
If you simply want to sit in a cafe and enjoy a drink – there are lots of spots to do that. Ljubljana has some great pubs, bars, parks and more!
